Get the month as text in cell from formula

hello,

I need to get the month in a cell. I tried in A1 =NOW() in B1 =MONTH(A1) and I would need in C1 to use a IF formula to get the month but I would need to do =IF(B1=1,"JANUARY","")

So my questions:

1) how do you do to use the if formula 12 times? (EG: =IF(B1=1,"JANUARY","")AND IF B1=2, "FEBRUARY" ???

2) Is there any better way to get the month :-P

Graig i hope your title to be ok for the Mods.

Try to create a table with the months and their numbers and then use INDEX & MATCH to get your results.

In Case if you really wants IF then, go for Choose Function... like below..
