Highlight result cells

I have a list of 20 phone numbers in column Q. I need see if those numbers appear in column F (there are hundreds of rows)and if they do, highlight the respective cell in column F and place a count next to column Q. I know that I can do this 1 at a time but there has to be a function to allow this to be automated.

Can anyone help?

Re: Highlight result cells

in R, copied down, use this...
=COUNTIF($F$1:F1,F1)

THis will give you a running total of all counts
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Highlight result cells

I have used the =COUNTIF(F3:F713,Q5) to determine how many occurrences there are.
But I need to highlight each occurrence in the worksheet in column F.

Re: Highlight result cells

I ended up using Conditional Formatting. It was cumbersome having to set up a rule for every instance. Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Highlight result cells

The alternative would be to use a helper column with countif() or vlookup and then filter.
