Question Trying to tie a drop down list into creating a value in a neighbouring cell

    Hi,

I've attached a file to show my problem. I've created a dropdown list in A2 for the types of Boiler shown in column G.

What I'd like to do is have the price (reflected in column H) automatically come up in B2 dependent on the Boiler that is chosen.

    Can anyone help ??

    Thanks !!QUERY FILE.xlsx

    Paste in B2 -

    =VLOOKUP(A2,$G$1:$H$9,2,0)
    Cheers!

Also, I would suggest you highlight the boilerplate names and prices then sort by boilerplate name to alphabetically sort the names in the dropdown list. I think that is easier for the end user to find the name in alphabetical order.

WOW ! Thanks guys ... That's exactly what I wanted to do ! Much appreciated.

And yes I will alphabetically sort them when I've done the final list, just waiting for more data from the engineers.

    Thanks again !
