    Finding values / goal seek

    Hi

Im having a problem with excel which i was hoping some one could help or give me ideas. Basically im trying to find the perfect mix of investment and depreciation. It is a bit hard to explain so I have done an example which you can download here

    http://rapidshare.com/files/93784983...nvestment.xlsx or here calculation investment.xlsx

So in the field of "final profit" you can see that values are after some adjustment by hand (copy/paste) are getting closer to somewhere between 15 and 16.

So my question is now: how can you do that without having to copy/paste all those lines before? im thinking of goal seek or solver in libre office but cant get my head around how exactly i would have to arrange it.

Does any one have an idea?

Thank you ever so much, greetings from Germany!

Re: Finding values / goal seek

cant see what you want essentially goal seek changes only on cell where solver can change a range subject to limit of around 200 or so

Re: Finding values / goal seek

exactly - i was thinking maybe there is something similar that i have not come across yet

basically, if you see those basis of 10 every year - i have tried as an example small and larger investments which lead to different depreciations ("spendings" which might not be the correct term) - continuing this thought you come closer to a final profit of 15 or 16 towards the end.

so like i said what i am hoping to find is something to make this calculation work directly without having to do this long line of "coming closer" to the perfect amount.
