Unhappy Looking for a way to make Vlookup using 'TRUE' more precise

I am looking for a way to change the precision of a vlookup using 'TRUE' I have a large data set that has many repeated values that are slightly different in formatting and I need to attach the same identifier to each iteration of these text values. eg:

    Discovery Company, Ltd
    Discovery Co. Limited
    Discovery Company Limited
    Discovery Co., Ltd.

    Any ideas . . ?

And you don't want to do a find and replace to use a "standard" name version or add a column with a standardized name then work off that using the 'FALSE' part of lookup?

    Col a Col b

Discovery Company, Ltd = Discovery Company, Ltd
Discovery Co. Limited = Discovery Company, Ltd
Discovery Company Limited = Discovery Company, Ltd
Discovery Co., Ltd. = Discovery Company, Ltd

and then use vlookup from col b
    Rgd
    RT
