Calculate Time Difference (strange format)

    Hello,

I have two cells for which I need to calculate the time difference:

    ____________________
Jul 30, 2013 - 17:36:43
___________________
Jul 30, 2013 - 10:42:25
___________________

As you can see each cell contains both the date AND time. Is there a formula that can read these cells, or do I need to split them into a second column before I can do any calculations? Thanks!

Hello & Welcome to the Forum,

Say you have the two values in A1 & A2...

    In B1 >> =SUBSTITUTE(A1,"-"," ")+0 and drag down to B2...

In C1 and format as time...

    =((B1+(B1<B2))-B2)
    HTH
    Regards, Jeff
