Looking for formula to keep inventory....Maybe vlookup

I have a master inventory sheet with 2 tabs. First tab is the master inventory....first column: Item #, 2nd: current inventory. At the end of each day a report is pulled into the same book on a different tab(titled 'daily sales'), first colum: Item #, 2nd column: total sold for the day. I need a formula (maybe vlookup, but not sure) to look up the item # on the daily sales tab, and subtract the total sold for the day, from the master inventory tab, ultimately only updating the items sold that day. I will copy, paste special values, so that I can start over using the same formula every day.

    item list.xlsx
This is just something I'm trying to figure out so obviously the current inventory #'s are not accurate. However, the 8.15 sale tab is an accurate report puuled from quickbooks as it will be done every day.

Thanks - that works.....so, I changed a few thing and see if it will work for you....I created a daily sales and balance column....you can copy special paste your balance into OHI - on hand inventory, then you can copy and paste your new daily sales on top of the old daily sales....this is a bit a tweaky way to do this but it should work....
