How to display a blank when copying a date from another workbook if the target cell is bla

Hi, I am using a formula to copy data from another workbook based on whether yes or no is selected. For the date column I have:

    =IF('[TSC LOG (DW).xlsm]2013-2014'!C9="Yes",'[TSC LOG (DW).xlsm]2013-2014'!I9,"")

But if there is no date in the cell that it copies from it will automatically set the date as 00/01/1900... how do I have it display as blank if there is no date in the cell that it is copying from?

Also, using that formula (in 3 cells - name, surname, test date), it displays the details on the same line that it is on in the table it is collecting data from. So if No is selected then that row will be left blank, if yes is selected in the next row then it will be entered on the same row. Is there a way to make sure that if no is selected that it will shift the yes cells up if you know what I mean?

So you deleted a post that possibly would have solved my problem purely because of the thread title? I am on my phone at the minute, please edit the title to 'How to display a blank when copying a date from another workbook if the target cell is blank'

Yes i did! This forum has some rules and Admin & Mods are here to support these rules.

And as Admin believes that your title is not correct, thatt's it. You have to amend your title according the instructions.

Edit: As Admin changed your title..my reply was this:

Use Custom format in your cell that has your formula in this way.

Thanks for the format, it now makes it so that it won't enter anything if what it is copying from is a blank, but now when there is a date in the cell it is copying from (in Short Date eg. 17/04/2013 format), it displays it as 5 numbers, in this case 41381.
