Locking a forumla not to refrence itself??

Oh wow I dont even know how to ask my question, so let me try to explain where I am at and what I want the end result to be....

I am setting data points for inspection which upload to a specific program my data points have to look like, 10048348-001.01, 10048348-002.001, 10048348-003.01..... and so on. The groupings of these data points can go up to several hundred at a time so I found this formula on here that I have been using in order to be able to drag the number down and fill the column with the right sequential order, ="10048348-00"&TEXT(1+ROW(R1),0)+".01" This works exactly as I need it.

But now I am adding in historial data for these points but not all of them have old data for them so I was adding the group but then needed to go back and delete the empty rows but its messing up my numbered points now because it's trying to reference the cell above. I was wondering if there was a way to lock it once I had the set points and still delete the rows without them referencing eachother so that I could leave the desired data points?

    Make sense?

    Thanks for your help!
