    Need help organising data

    Hello all,

Not sure if this is in the correct part of the forum but here goes.

I am in dire need of some expert assistance as my limited knowledge of Excel has my completely stumped.

I have attached a small spreadsheet (just a snippet of the amount of data i actually have to process) that demonstrates the current format and required format.

There are approx 175k rows of data although this will be smaller when the job is actually run as I need to remove some erroneous data.

If anyone can help me in trying to organize my data I would be hugely grateful.

    many thanks

    Arvon

    Re: Need help organising data

    Hi,

I understand the requirement but we need to know how the rest of your data is arranged. For instance I presume there are other blocks of data like A3:C7.

If so are they all 5 rows deep or do they vary.
Is the first cell like B3 always the item that becomes the row label in example C16

Is the output always two rows i.e. two rows for every block of data as in rows 16:17, or is row 16 a general header with a single row for each block of data?

Can you add some more typical data examples so that we don't waste time guessing.

    Hi Richard

many thanks for your response. I have tried to add the full dataset but the file is too big.

I have attached the first 100 rows of data to get a better feel.

each skill category needs to represent a column header, some of the id's will have more than others and some id's will have more data than others.

    I hope this helps.
