vlookup missing some lines of cells

I have a vlookup all working well except
some cells are not found and imported ok from sheet 2
cells containing a mix of numbers and letters are found all ok
and some are not
for some reason which if evading me and shows as #N/A

I am not a excel specialist but with much appreciated help from this forum have managed to create a vlookup system running fine BUT with the problem that certain cells are not found when they clearly are in sheet2

Try removing the trailing space in B16 on the first tab.

also just noticed if the number and letter combo is re-typed
it works fine

now shows up
so clearly a formatting error, I would think? perhaps

now the thing is
how do I do that in a column with over 1000 entries?
