    I need to convert text valuee.g 2013.09.12 00:00:00 to date dd-mmm-yyyy?

    This worked for me (using my U.S. English regional settings)...

    =--SUBSTITUTE(LEFT(A2,10),".","-")

    format as Date
    Biff
    Microsoft MVP Excel

    dd-mmm-yyyy
