Need To Create Formula To Generate Unique SKU Numbers Based Off Manufacturer SKU Numbers

Hello,
So, here is my situation.. We have access to well over 200,000 SKU's that we can list for sale on our website. However, spending all the time manually assigning our proprietary SKU's can be cost prohibitive. What I am hoping to do, is create an excel formula that will take the manufacturer SKU from Column A, and create a unique SKU (to our company) in Column B.
Now, I have thought of using a specific prefix, or suffix, to aide in the categorization of the products.. But, I have read that this can actually be limiting in some ways. Regardless, my aim is broaden our product selection as quickly, and efficiently as possible.
I would very much appreciate if someone could steer me in the right direction on this, and/or if they have any insight as to how this would be done. Surely I cannot be the only one who is looking to do this sort of thing... ;c)

hello..

just an idea..you may try to use =CODE() and loop in any other text you want. that'll assign a unique value for each item
