    Formula for subtotaling

    Hello,
Does anyone know of a formula that would go into the yellow marked cells that would add up the subtotals?
    Attached is an example.
    Thank you!

Perhaps if you could explain how you come to the expected values it may make it easier to provide you with a solution.... Just a thought.

I edited the spreasheet. Columns can be expanded to the left of cell A1 by clicking on the number 3.

Try this in cell D6 and copy down:
    =COUNTIF(A:A,LEFT(A13,FIND(" ",A13)-1))

@AlKey - Great. Thank you. One more question, what is formula to add those 3 categories up in cells B37, B38, and B39 (minus Grand Total)?

    Re: Formula for subtotaling

    In D2 enter

=COUNTIF($A$2:$C32,A2) and drag down to row 32

    In B37 enter

    =COUNTIF($C$2:$C$32,A37) and drag it down.

    Re: Formula for subtotaling

@AlKey - can you please take a look at the second formula. Yuor formula counts all the G,A, or R items for Points. Can you please change it so it counts Column D instead. Attached is an example. Thank you
