    Formula for dates and pages

    Hello,

I am trying to make a budget planner for my wife and I. So I have a list of the bills that we pay by month. I also have 12 pages with the Months on it. On page 13 I have the list of bills. I am trying to have the bill and when it is due post on the month page so it is easily visible. I hope this makes sense.

Re: Formula for dates and pages

Hi, try this idea. It uses a simple helper column on each monthly sheet to identify which bills belong to that month.
That formula (in column A) needs to be copied down at least the number of bills that are listed in the Bills sheet (not just the ones for that month).
The bills can be entered in any order date-wise. They won't be sorted but they will still all appear on the correct Monthly sheets (although you can still manually sort the Bills Sheet).
Copy the formulas in columns B, C, & D down with plenty of spare for the month. If you have 10 bills a month then maybe copy down 20 lines in case it gets busy.
I hope you can make this work for you.
Just remember that if there are 100 bills listed on the bills sheet then formulas in column A of the monthly sheets needs to also be copied down at least 100 lines, even if there is only 5 bills that month.
I'm sure there would be a better way to do this, but this seems to work and its easy
And column A can always be hidden once the formula is copied down.

I see a lot of errors on that sample list. I have my doc I will update and maybe it will make sense.

ahh, sorry. I misunderstood, I didn't realise you were making proper calendars, I thought you were just making a monthly list.

Check out this link and look at what Pete_UK put in at the bottom, I think it might be modified to suit your calendar.

This is exactly what I was looking for. But if I copy+paste the formulas into Excel it will not work. Really annoying so I am just going to have to use OpenOffice.
