Conditional table/formatting question - how to replace an area of a large sheet

    Hello,

I'm trying to replace an area of a sheet based on some condition.

For example, if condition A, then use this table that is 20 rows by 6 columns, with specific colours, and bolded headings, etc. On another condition, same sized table but it looks a bit different.

Looking @ conditional formatting, doesn't seem to be ideal for this.

    Is there an easier way?

    Regards,

    Sanjay

    Yes somewhat.

Basically, trying to make a character sheet for a game (D&D). If the 1 of the player's classes = spellcaster, then the feat/skill section should look a bit different. The formulae would also be different since spellcasters in the game get some feats that are unique to them (so my sums, vs the total gained would be different)

A player who is, let's say, just a warrior won't need those additional formulae so his area of the sheet would look simpler.

    Regards,

    Sanjay

    Is there more you require?
If you can upload the sheet I can have a look.

    Sounds like a fun one.

Re: Conditional table/formatting question - how to replace an area of a large sheet

i was hoping to try it myself just was confused as to how to start. I COULD use a formulae for each row of the table, but that seems like lots of extra calculations that aren't needed, But wasn't sure if that's the easiest way. I thought if just the headings have to change, i can do it that way, but then thought maybe i can have a completely different table in it's place. have both tables somewhere onthe worksheets, and a function to check and use A vs B. It's actually not a table i think in that sense. More just formatted rows/columns... (ie. not a chart using the chart functions)

the sheet is about 8 megs. (lots of worksheets with lots of tables that are referred to by the main sheet. Also lots of calculations, etc.)

i can attach here. will it take a sheet of that size?
