    Warehouse Inventory formula help.

I have a spread sheet for warehouse inventory. I run a military type Issuing facility. Right now I have a spread sheet that on one tab is the whole warehouse inventory, what is physically here. On a different tab I have a daily in/out Inventory. What I need to happen is if something is posted on the daily in/out inventory I need it to be added or taken away from the actual warehouse inventory. Also to add to my problem, sometimes an Item will go in and out in the same day. Is there a "simple" formula for this?

I have attached a very small portion of my sample. On cell AN-AT you will notice there is a "KIT" there are pieces that belong to these kits they will always come in and out together so I need the to go in/out as one as well. I realize it may be impossible to keep them numbered the way they are we assinged those number ourselves and they can be ditched if needed. But I would love it if the system realized that it was kit *** (1-180) and assigned that number back to it. Lastly the location will be added back in but I had to remove it for this purpose.

    Hi, excel_soldier,

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.

Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

    Hi, excel_soldier,

could you imagine not to have all the inventory being split into multiple tables but as one long list (or use mulitple sheets instead of just one)? Even with this at present I could only imagine a VBA-Code to realize what you want to do, not a formula solution (might be proven wrong on that).

How will the identifcation of the items be realized? Automated or by hand?

    Ciao,
    Holger

Thank you for your reply. The sheet has to stay pretty much like it is. Not sure what you are asking about the identification of the items.

    Hi sandbox soldier,

Excel works best with a TABLE of information. A table is a single block of cells without a blank row or column anywhere in it. If you take you 10 separate tables and stack them under each other you could do a lot more with the data. For example you could Auto Filter or Pivot Table your data. You could filter by a ID or date or etc. Read and learn about Tables in Excel at:

    Start with something like http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...102252956.aspx
    or http://contextures.com/xlExcelTable01.html
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
