Hi,
I would really need help in solving the following problem
In the attached file I have a data series describing snow accumulation.
What I have to do is, take out all the values where the snow level was increasing /from column B from trough to peak (between the local minimum and the local maximum, leaving the minimum out)/, and leave out all the values when the snow level was decreasing.
The difficult part is when the snow level decreased below the the level prior to the local maximum. In that case I have to leave out the local maximum as well and all the values before it which were above the next local minimum.
/In the attached file I have to leave out all the values above the orange line./
If the next local minimum does not go under the previous local maximum than I just ave to subtract the decreasing values from the local maximum.
I managed to take out all the local min and max values but had difficulty determining the increasing and decreasing part of the dataset.
I would really appreciate any solutions or ideas
