    Cross Reference For SSN

I have 2 spreadsheets. SS 1 has 8000 names and SSN's with first names in column A, last names in B, and SSN's in C. SS 2 has 600 names with first names in A and last in B but no SSN. All of the names on SS 2 are on SA 1. I need to be able to find the names from SS 2 on SS 1 and enter the SSN into column C of SS 2. I can combine the 2 SS's if needed.

    Re: Cross Reference For SSN

    Hi

There's no need to combine them.
First since you're going to want to match using first & last names, in D1 of SS1 enter

    and copy down

Do the same in D1 on SS2
With both open in memory add the following formula into C1 on SS 2 and copy down.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Change the 'Sheet 1' reference as necessary.
