    finding the nth instance in a formula

    I have the following formula. =IF(COLUMNS($B:Y)<ROWS($1:12),"",INDEX($A25:$C25,CEILING(COUNT($B25:Y25)/12,1))*INDEX($AP$30:$AP$32,CEILING(COUNT($B25:Y25)/12,1))/12)

    How can I do a search and replace on the four instance of "/12" in this formula? I would like to replace it with "*INDEX(D30:D32,$B$34)"

    Well, at the risk of stating the obvious, use the normal Find & Replace functionality in the Find & Select Editing area of the ribbon.

    That doesn't work. I just want to replace the final "/12" with something but there are multiple instances of that. Even if I select more it won't work because then I'll be replacing cell references. Booooooooooo.

    @ Amartino

    What's with the
    Booooooooooo.
    about.

    Did you followed the Find and replace suggested to you?

    Find What :/12
    Replace with : *INDEX(D30:D32,$B$34)
    select ->>>Option
    Select -> Look in: Formula
    Replace All.

    If you've done it right and solved the problem, please take time to read forum rules again specifically forum rule: #6b and #9

    Re: finding the nth instance in a formula

    That's fine. But if you look at the formula you'll notice that there are multiple instances of "/12". I only want to replace the final instance in all of the formulas.

    =IF(COLUMNS($B:Y<ROWS($1:12),"",INDEX($A25:$C25,CEILING(COUNT($B25:Y25)/12,1))*INDEX($AP$30:$AP$32,CEILING(COUNT($B25:Y25)/12,1))/12)
