Compare columns and finding matching values/text

I have encountered a problem and I'm not really good at Excel (very basic skills..).

My problem is the following: I have four columns with data and I want to compare how many times X matches X in another column and if it is 0,1,2,3 times. The data is in the form for example "A11111" and some are in the form of "A11111-1" does this matter? I guess it might go wrong if you don't use proper formatting etc for the values, please help me with this also :-)

So, basically I want to test the data in column A if they match any cell in column B,C or D - and then compare those unmatched in column B if they match in A, C or D etc etc.
