guys i have a spreadsheet that acquires data from 42 other worksheet and in a row of cells it has yes or no at the bottom of that row i have =COUNTIF(A2:A34,"YES"). But it will not count the yes' because the cells that it is trying to count all have formulas in them like =tues!A34 or similar is there a different formula i can use to still count the yes' even in a cell containing a formula? thanks

i am trying to count the yes' in c6:c12 and get my answer in c13 but have no luck doing so thanks,
I see no formula in C13. Also as the conect cell is in another workbook(which i don't see), then i get blank cell as result...In any case i insist that there is no reason to have problem with countif....
Sorry i attached the wrong sheet but i am just creating a copy of a single sheet from the work book because the work book contains over 50 worksheets so please veiw this sheet. and thanks for the quick response
Try this formula
=COUNTIF(C6:C12,"YES*")

There are spaces in column c of your other workbook. So you don't get the word"YES" clearly.
In C6 and copy to c12, use this.
