    Find the most recent date in a column based on a name in a different column

    Hi there, I'm looking for some help in getting excel to look for the most recent date in column B for each name in column A. File attached. Thanks so much for any help!

    In Cell H2, array enter (enter using Ctrl-Shift-Enter) (change the $90s to a higher number to match your data)

    If date is ascending by each name as per sample, try this:

    You should be aware that that formula requires the data to be sorted by date ascending. Any deviation from that layout will return incorrect values.
