I am using Excel 2013. In Column A I have both numeric and names. For eg.
203010010005-ABDULLAH NASSER
The numbers are codes and words are names.
The length of number differs from 9 to 13 and followed by hypen "-" and without space and the name starts. The length of name is very long
The number sometimes contain alpha numeric also. I would like to separate the codes and names separately.
Can anyone help me in this?

Did you try using Text To Columns (Under Data Tab)?
Select Text To Column >> Delimited >> Others (Put - ) >> Finish

Thanks. It helped only partially
As the delimiter takes only the first few characters and others in next few columns. Still it helped.
I use concatenate to merge these columns.

=TRIM(LEFT(SUBSTITUTE($A1,"-",REPT(" ",255)),255))
