Exclamation Copy rows when value matches a value in another column

    Hi there,
Thanks in advance for your help on this! I have a spreadsheet with columns A through U. For any row where column A matches a value in column U, I want to copy columns A through T to another sheet. There will be multiple matches in column A that match a value in column U. I have tried various lookups with arrays and index/match formulas I found on line but no luck. I would greatly appreciate any assistance on this. Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to find the Column U data that matches the column A data and extract that so that you are only left with numbers that do not match, would that be a correct assumption?

Re: Copy rows when value matches a value in another column

Sorry no, I did not explain very well. I want to end up with a sheet with all the rows (including columns A-T) where the value in column A matched a value in column U. So there are about 4,000 rows, I would estimate that several hundred of those rows have a value in A that is included in column U. Does that make sense. Thanks for your help!!

Yeah, I think I get it.

    Where U = A you want A-T returned on a separate sheet.
Where U <> A you do not want it displayed at all.

Re: Copy rows when value matches a value in another column

    Something like the attached?

What I have done is set a name range in the data areas (speeds up vlookup data),

then done a vlookup on all the data in a separate sheet,

finally I applied a filter and simply removed the #N/A tick to leave the relevant data.

Hope that helps, and it should be dynamic meaning changes to the source should still auto update.

Ooh, this is almost it. The only issue is that it seems to be picking up only the first match, when there could be two matches (matching in A but different data B-T) Thanks SO much for the help here.

ok, I'll give it some more thought and see what I can do...

    I have it!!

I did copy it for the entire sheet but the file is over the max upload limit. Please download the attachment then do a fill down to cell 3840, after that click on the filter dropdown arrow, scroll to the bottom of the list and un-tick blanks.

    That should solve it
