I'm struggling to write a formula that will count identical email addresses in a database. I need to track when an individual in the database has requested specific information from us and what that item of information was.
Ultimately, I also need to be alerted once that individual has requested five items of information.
I will be adding to the database each week, and then sorting the list by email. Cell columns will be as follows:
DATE ITEM NAME ADDRESS EMAIL
So I need a dynamic counting -- using some form of IF-THEN -- of how many times each email address is appearing in the list. And then be able to see quickly each week, after the latest dbase update, when that individual has hit the "five times" mark.
I suspect somehow I need to use the "specific text" feature in assessing each email's count in the list. But I don't know how to do that.
Any suggestions? Thank you.
