Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

I cannot seem to attach the file I want it will only let me attach photos for some reason but what iam trying to do is I have several costing sheets for different types of flooring and what I would like to do is setup a work book which contains various customer details then be able to link this to each costing sheet the work book containing customer details will be constantly added to so say I have a customer who requires carpet in one room and vinyl in another which are on separate costing sheets I would like to be able to link customer details to these from the wood book containing details ie name address ect many thanks for your interest mjh35
Without sample workbook we can't provide you the exact solution for your query
I can find away to attach the file but what I am trying to do is I have 9 different workbooks that contain costing sheets ie work book 1 would be for carpet workbook 2 would be for vinyl at the top of each costing sheet on left hand side so cells a1-a7 would before customers address phone number etc what I want to do is setup a customer workbook that contains customer details that I can link to each castings workbook so that there name and address would automatically fill in by say typing there name in cell a1 does that make sense or do you have any ideas how to attach file as my ipad will only let me attach a photo
Have you considered having all the data in 1 workbook? or at least, all the products in 1 WB?

Yes but how do I link the data work book that contains the information I have been browsing the internet and it looks like I need to use VLOOKUP formula
vlookup or index match will probably work for you (they work exactly the same on different workbooks as for different sheets in the same WB), but without seeing a sample of what you are working with, its hard to put anything together for you
I wish I could find away as I am fairly sure there is a simple solution using VLOOKUP I have a good idea of the formular I should use but it seams to set a number of cells to work with as the one work book will have an ever increasing number of address added to it
can you provide sample workbooks?
