    Concatenate Not Working

    Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with the concatenate function with excel 2010. I have used this function a lot in the past however today I am not able to get it to work. When I drop down the function it only copies the first line instead of applying the function to all lines. Sorry this is hard to explain. I provided an example below.

    =A1&B1&C1

    A B C
    1. Test Alpha Test
    2. Test Beta Test
    3. Test Omega Test

When I use the function today I get the same answer for all - TestAlphaTest

I receive the same answer no matter where I start the function or what spreadsheets I use it on. I have tried multiple computers so I know it is not that.

    Please help.

Make sure Calculation is set to Automatic on the Formula Tab.

    Re: Concatenate Not Working

Perhaps you have Excel set for Manual Calculation instead of Automatic. On the Formulas tab, click Calculation Options in the Calculate group, then change as required.

    Hope this helps.

I do not know why or how it was changed but it is working correctly now.

    Thank you both!

    Re: Concatenate Not Working

Perhaps you opened another workbook earlier in the day where that was set for Manual - the setting gets carried into other workbooks which you subsequently open within the same instance of Excel.

    Hope this helps.
