Pasted a link, using paste special, some text from Sheet 1, to sheet 2.
The text is same but the strikethrough effect is missing, which the original text in sheet 1 has.
How to get the strikethrough effect for the linked text in Sheet 2?
Thanks

Upload a sample to show what you have and what you want please
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

why not just use regular copy/paste? This will bring all teh formatting with it
That is just a simplified version.
I got a more complex table then that.
In actuality i have 1 sets of table with many columns (about 20 columns, in Sheet 1 & Sheet 2(but with similar subject header between this 2 sheets).
1)I need to compare individual columns from sheet 1 & sheet 2, so i link each column from the 2 respective sheets to sheet 3 so that i can visually compare them by puting them side by side.
2) Then i will highlight any difference between the 2 columns. So i have 20 (sheet 1)+ 20 (sheet 2) = 40columns
3) Then i will use all 20 columns (link from sheet 2) from sheet 3 to sheet 4. (basically to put the table back together)
4) So sheet 4 will will look exactly like sheet 2 but with the highlights of the differences.
5) Base on the highlighting & the strikethrough, i will transfer this info to another medium.
That is 1 file. I have like about 20 such tables, so i intend to do this 1st file as a template, so that all i need to do for the subsequent 20 files, i just need to copy the table to sheet 1 & 2, voila! sheet 3 automatically has all the individual columns side by side for me to compare.
So that is why i need to link the file, if i were to copy & paste each column (40 + 40 x 2) = 320 times, i will go crazy.
Hope you understand what i mean.

OK, I dont think this can be done with any regular formulas of Conditional Formatting If you are manually adding the strike-through, you will need somebody to put some VBA code together for you for this.
If there is some logic that can be applied, then maybe we can use CF or formulas, but if it is just a "random" application, then I dont see any other option than VBA
excel does not "see" formatting...colors, bold, strike-through etc. These are all formatting, and excel formulas deals with data
Thanks FDibbins for the clarification.
