dont use the fill handle
copy the formula
select range of cells
paste /special/formulas

Click on the first cell where you have your formula, Press and Hold Ctrl+Shift and use arrow down until you reach the last cell. Release Ctrl+Shift, press F2, press and hold Ctrl key and hit Enter.
