    The FORMULA (FORECAST) 3-d reference

    Hi,

    In the attachment:

    1. a) For simplicity, i made an example with in total four sheets containing only one-cell tables.
    b) In the first three sheets i put the already known outcomes. This time-interval between those outcomes is exactly a week.
    c) In the last sheet i want to predict the outcome with the excel formula (FORECAST). The outcome (for simplicity) should be 5.
    d) I need a 3-d reference somehow, because instead of 4 sheets i have 2400 sheets.

How would you guys solve this?

Re: The FORMULA (FORECAST) 3-d reference

write your sheets name in F2:F4 for given example they will be then
to refer multiple sheets you can try
below formula in D4 hit enter
    =INDIRECT("'"&TEXT(F2:F4,"D-M-yy")&"'!"&"B4") hit enter
now click D4 press f2 then press F9 this will show the value you are seeking for forecast "x" then same way for other values then wrap all values inside forecast.

You showed 3 sheets with 3, 3 and 4 on them, and wanted to return 5.

Walk me though the process here, and would there be values beyond 4? like in sheet 6?

Re: The FORMULA (FORECAST) 3-d reference

The forecast formula should predict 5. That's what it should calculate.

But it's not about the what. It's more about the how (how would i write this FORECAST formula in excel with an 3-d reference).

I need this 3-d reference somehow. Because i have 2400 sheets, with exactly the same format. But at every date, the y's go up or stay the same. I want to see if it's possible to use Excel forecast to predict the next y (what it should do). How much does it go up, or stay it the same.

The workbook i sent you, is just an example.

But the how should be the same throught multiple sheets (3d-references).
