Can someone please advise if i need wifi for the date and time to work in excel. I am creating an app to use on my tablet and i was wondering if i need to be connected to data or wifi for it to work: or does it use GPS signal.

Excel's time comes from your computer's clock. A computer may synchronize occasionally from an internet time source according to your settings; a smart phone synchronizes to network time when connected. I dunno where a tablet falls in that.

"iPad is set to update the time automatically, it determines your time
zone based on your Internet connection and updates it for the time zone you’re in."
