Copying a value to another cell when Checkbox is clicked

    Hi guys,

I'm looking for some help in Excel.

I'll try and explain it without confusing anyone too much.

I have 5 columns in excel and a value in each column, i.e. J23, L23, N23, P23, R23 (I have left columns blank in between each one).

    The values in J23, L23, N23, P23, R23 are all different.

I'd like to place a Checkbox underneath each of these cells (each checkbox being specifically for the value in the cell above it) so that when I click one of the checkboxes, the value that is linked to that checkbox is then copied into another sell, for example Cell J31.

Could someone please help me with doing this? I would very much appreciate it!

    Kind Regards,

    Calum

Is this what you want? Move the checkbox underneath.

    Hi there,

Yes that's what I have, but I require that when one of the checkboxes is clicked, that the value of that checkbox (the value next to the checkbox) is copied into a cell nearby.

    Is this do able?

When you click the checkbox the value next to it will be copied in J31 (just like your example says).

    Hi Blokeman,

My apologies, the file opened in OpenOffice instead of Excel, works perfectly, thanks!

Re: Copying a value to another cell when Checkbox is clicked

What do you want if more than one checkbox is selected? Should the values be copied to different cells or is there only 1 target cell?

Re: Copying a value to another cell when Checkbox is clicked

Would this be a viable solution for you. There is just a link to the cell under the checkbox. The font under the checkbox is white so as to be hidden.

Re: Copying a value to another cell when Checkbox is clicked

Sorry guys, I thought this thread was solved but there is one more thing I require.

I'd like the checkboxes to active when a value is changed in the cell, could anyone provide me with the VBA code to do this?

    Thanks,

    Calum
