    Sum or IF Formula??

    Hi Guys

I have an excel spreadsheet (2010) with a Subtotal on the Revenue column.

I am trying to create a formula to basically say.

Show me the total revenue for all Joe's customers that are still "Pending".

I have tried everything I can think off.

    May Thanks
    Fentoei

Look to use the =Sumifs function.

Look here for an explanation of the syntax.

    Re: Sum or IF Formula??

hi Fentoei. the answer to your question is combining them; SUMIFS. say this is the data
    Data Range
    A
    B
    C
    1
    Name
    Status
    Amt
    2
    Joe
    Pending
    10
    3
    Alvin
    Pending
    20
    4
    Joe
    Completed
    30
    5
    Joe
    Pending
    40

    try:
    =SUMIFS(C:C,A:A,"Joe",B:B,"Pending")

provide a sample data for us next time in an excel file. makes it easier
