How to unhide rows in protected worksheets

Hello,
I need to protect a work sheet (so that people can't accidentally delete/alter formulas), but I need to be able to hide and unhide rows.
When I protect the worksheet to make certain cells locked, it seems to also lock the side bar, so I can't unhide my hidden rows. Is there any way to get around this?
