Question Moving the whole row down when pasting

    Hi,

    Let's say there's a couple row:

    Here's a column I will be pasting:

If I want to "Insert Copied Cells" in place of Yellow on Row1 and shift the cells down, the rows would look like this:

How can I make it so the rows would be the following during such a paste:

This is because I have hundreds of cells that I need to insert as columns all the while pushing complete rows down. If you're trying to understand why, it will be for some online marketing purpose as demonstrated here in this sheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...eyimmzCo7v6lEQ

    I appreciate your help!

You must not pasting columns, you must pasting rows.

Thanks. So that means I should place the cells properly in the original sheet properly before pasting them as rows?

It appears to me that you have to insert two rows to "shove" the rows that start out as rows 1 and 2 down to be rows 3 and 4. Then make sure that what you are wanting to paste into the worksheet is in the proper format. In you example it would be one over two like this:

    one
    two

Select these cells and paste in the proper columns above the data that you moved down by the insertion of the two rows.

    Thanks!
However, when I have a LOT of rows - it becomes hard to track it your way. I tried that, and it's a great idea - but for smaller number of cells.

Re: Moving the whole row down when pasting

A large sample in a workbook would help a lot to show what the problem is if the small sample works but isn't suitable for a large sample.
