    format problem i think....

Hi, this is very simple but I cant workout what is going wrong?

If I want A1 of sheet 2 to equal what is A1 of sheet 1, I would normally just go to sheet1 and press = then click on cellA1, however when I press enter it just says sheet1 A1 rather than the value inside of it. I don't understand why?

did you click off the cell - that could be one issue?
another could be under file>> options >> calculatio options should be set to automatic and not manual.

Perhaps calculation is set to manual? Set it to automatic

check to see if the cell is formated as text. I just recreated your issue by changing the format to text.

EDIT: if it is, change the destination cell format to general, it should take on the format of the reference cell then.
