It is for years I face that pivot tables from time to time crash. F***ing Microsoft support never even tried to help me with it having always good excuse, or they somehow “forgot” to reply to my email, or “forgot” to call me back.

So far it happened always when I was opening file with pivot table.

Does anyone know why pivot tables crash?
Does anyone know how to deal with it?
Perhaps be a bit more explicit? Under which circumstances does this happen?

As mentioned it always happens when I, or someone wants to open file with pivot table(s).

It opens window:
Excel found unreadable content in “name_of_the_file.xls”. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click yes.
Than it opens window with list of tables with crashed pivot tables
“PivotTable report “PivotTable 1” on [name_of_the_file.xls]sheet_name was discarded due to integrity problems.
…and then it continues with other sheets…
Have you tried opening it in Openoffice or Libreoffice ?
