Hyperlink Problem

I have one spreadsheet that was created about a month ago and has about 50 hyperlinks in it; it's not a complicated spreadsheet — no formulas or anything, 8 tabs. it got stickier and stickier as time went by — performing basic maneuvers more and more slowly, then occasionally freezing, then freezing and flipping back and forth between other programs, and finally just freezing solid : i'd open the sheet and click the mouse on something and the little circle would spin and spin and never stop. I reconstructed the sheet from an earlier, still viable version, and the same thing happened. It worked for a couple of days, but now it's totally frozen. Since my other spreadsheets, which don't have hyperlinks, are working fine, I'm inclined to think it's the hyperlinks that are causing the problem.

has anyone seen this? is there anything i can do about it?

running Windows 7 Professional on a 2010 Dell.

Without seeing your excel file it's very hard to advise you efficiently.

Are yours hyperlinks pointing to WHERE?
--> WEB?
--> Another Tab on the same workbook?
--> Another Workbook?
--> To any CLOSED workbook?
