What to use Vlookup,Countif or Sum ?

Hello all,

I am trying to do a positional table for my lottery numbers (1-53) with (6) balls / I will call positions after the lottery is drawn. Now I am looking too find the position of occurrence of a number or any number that is drawn to it's position with in the combination.

Example...

Now Some numbers will only occur with in some positions, to say "1" can only occur in "position 1" and "53" can only occur in "position 6" but all other numbers can and will occur in any other position, to say "10" can occur in "position 6", as well as "position 1" for a combination so on and so forth with other numbers. How to put a formula together too do this??

Also I would like to count the occurrence of this number in it's position that it is seen.

Now I would like to have my formula update as I update my Database with new combinations that have been drawn.

So the confusion is what do I use for a formula (Vlookup, Countif, Sum, Indirect), how do I have my table update itself as I update my Database? Also can I adjust my range within the formula if I wanted to include more combinations?

I have uploaded my test worksheet if anyone can help me out?

You would need one table for each of the lotteries with the number of balls down the left side of the chart and the positions across the top like you have. The formula is just a COUNTIF as you can see in the file.
