Can't open .xlsx Hyperlinks in Excel 2013

There are a few spreadsheets I use which have hyperlinks in them. After upgrading to Office 2013 I can’t open any of the hyperlinks with .xlsx but I can open ones .xls extension.

If I click on one of the .xlsx hyperlinks I get the following message:
Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that this file is from a trustworthy source.
Would you like to open this file?

After clicking OK my mouse just spins like it is loading but nothing happens. I’ve tried uninstalling/installing and repairing Office but it doesn’t help. Other people are able to open the .xlsx from their computers just fine. Any ideas of what might be causing this?

I am replying to your thread, in hope that you may have obtained an answer to your query. I have 100% the same problem, and have been very unsuccessful to solve my problem. Have you been so lucky as to obtain a solution to this problem?
