    Lock Cells after Specified Date

    Hi,

I have a football predictor that automatically calculates scores once I put in the actual score, which I am happy with. As there are several people taking part I decided the easiest way for me to manage it was to create a prediction sheet for each player to insert their scores that is linked to my master spreadsheet, again all is fine that.

However I realised today that as each player has their own spreadsheet and it is linked to master spreadsheet that automatically calculates the scores, they could alter the scores from previous weeks giving them more points than they are due.

Is there a way to essentially lock cells after a specified date, i.e. matchday 03 is 30/08/14, therefore I would like last edit on each players spreadsheet to be 29/08/14 unless you have administrator rights. The same applies for each round of games, matchday 04 is 13/09/14 so last edit possible on 12/09/14 etc.

Is this possible to do? I've attached my spreadsheet if that makes it easier. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,
    EMcK

Re: Lock Cells after Specified Date

I don't think I explained this as clear as I could have last night, I would like to be able to choose a range of cells that are locked after a specific date, i.e. for matchday 03 on 30/08/14 cells E37:F46 are locked before the first game kicks off, therefore say cells can be edited up to midnight on 29/08/14. Similarly for matchday 04 on 13/09/14 cells E53:F52 can be edited until midnight 12/09/14, and so on for all matchdays.

The dates for these games change so I would like to be able to control how the cells are locked, therefore I think it would be good to reference a cell within the spreadsheet with a date that can control what cells are locked. i.e. if I change cell C34 to contain the date 30/08/14 (matchday 03) which I can manually lock, then the cell range E37:F46 locks down on that date, however if all the games are postponed by say a week I can change the date in cell C34 06/09/14 then the cell range won't lock until this date.

hope this explains more what I am looking for and don't cause more confusion...

    Thanks,
    EMcK
