Need Help: Formula to open an excel from share drive

    Hi All,

My primary objective is to validate few datas from 4 to 5 different excel workbooks(using vlookup function) based on that I will prepare consolidated report.

It's a daily activity every day I'm opening the same file(but updated).

I want to know do we have any formulas to open the file and vlookup using the formula? If yes I can update the formula alone in my consolidated report.

    Please help me on this!!!

    Regards
    Elango

You can VLOOKUP in closed files.

    Modify the below:
    =VLOOKUP(A1,'C:\Users\Name\Desktop\[spreadsheet.xlsx]Sheet1'!$A$1:$H$100,4,0)

This should do the trick, as long as the filename and directory don't change
You should hit F5, because chances are I've edited this post at least 5 times.
