    Drag down conditional formatting

I have numbers in columns A,B,C and D. I have conditional formatting on row 1 which fills in the largest value green.

I want to duplicate this on the rows below, but if I drag down (for example to row4) it highlights the largest value in the range A1:D4, instead of one cell on each row.

Is there a way to drag down the conditional formatting, other than copying and pasting the row multiple times?

    Thanks in advance.

what conditional formatting did you use? if you use a rule of
Cell Value, equal to, = MAX($A1:$D1)
you can change the Applies to box to use your whole range

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to
