trying to count occurrences that don't live in their own cells

The survey responses are stored like this in 2 columns. There are about 150 rows.
    response choices
    1 cats, dogs, turtles
    2 cats, dogs, turtles, ducks
    3 ducks, frogs
    4 turtles, ducks

I am trying to count how many times each value was selected. So I want this output:
    cats 2
    dogs 2
    turtles 3
    ducks 3
    frogs 1

I can't figure out how to do this!! Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

If you're prepared to split the column B strings with the Data Text To Columns functionality then the attached would be one way.
