Changing time format

Hi ,

I have the following value in Cell A1.

11/17/2014 9:20:00 AM

Where i just want to delete the date and AM.I also want to remove seconds.

The rest it should show like 9:20.I just want this as value if possible nit in time format.Can Anyone help with a formula?

Thank you for the feedback.

I should have added that if the value is a real Excel date and time value, (if it changes to a number when formatted as General) all that is required is to change the formatting to h:mm
