Large amounts of data

Hi,
This is just a general question.
I have alot of data in an excel spread sheet around above 200k rows and 20 columns of text, from this data i have to do sums (massive coutifs) to workout things like times dates etc.
As this workbook has gotten bigger, it has understandable gotten slower and slower.
Is there a better method out there that i can use, and if so how would i go about it?
