Need Formula to pick the latest date from a range of cells

    Hi,

I have a very big range of cells in a report. From that, I need to pick the status of a person i;e "Completed"and the report is having other status as well, like "Not Completed/ Dropped/ In Progress".

From all these status, only completed has to be pulled.

Here the challenge is, for a single person this data will have many Completion status in different rows, with their corresponding "Completion Dates".

Hence, I need to pull the Completion Status whose corresponding completion date should be a "Latest One".

Please someone help me with the formula.

I have attached a sample excel. In that i need the status of "C" with its corresponding Latest Date.

    Thanks,
    Fahim

    Alternatively, MAX-IF.
This is an array formula, confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again.

Here is a solution that takes into consideration both the name and completed and retrieves the latest date matching both conditions.
    Formula: copy to clipboard
