    MSN Money Web Query Problem

Hello. The MSN Money web queries that come with excel (for quotes, currencies, and indices), all return the html code of the page with the data instead of the actual data. I have attached an excel spreadsheet showing what I mean. I tried downloading new web query files from a site I found, but the result is the same. The query seems to be running; it just doesn't display the results correctly. Thanks for your help.

Re: MSN Money Web Query Problem

Until recently I was using MS money for stock quotes. It appear that this is no longer available. As a result, I now use a UDF I located on the web. Here is the code for the UDF which returns stock quotes.

Look at this link if this is what you require.

Re: MSN Money Web Query Problem

Thank you for replying Alan. I have come across that link you sent me before. Ultimately the goal is to pull historical quotes for a specific date for several symbols at a time. That vba code is for pulling only one symbol at a time. At the moment tHough, I just want to pull the current price and be able to use the parameters feature that MSN had which let you highlight which symbols you want. I have tried writing my own web query to do this but no luck yet. Thanks again for the response.

with the code shown, I have a list of stock quotes and can pull all the quotes simultaneously. If no date is supplied, then it pulls the latest price. If the date is supplied, then it pulls the closing price for that date.

Attached is a sample worksheet to demonstrate how it works.
