Change the background of an image to transparent

Hello,
I'm using Excel 2010 and I've attached the spreadsheet below. I need to paste the image of the four circles with the letters A, U, I, and C into a PowerPoint but the image that gets pasted has a white background. I've tried to match the background in Excel to the much darker background in Powerpoint but I cant get an exact match. Is there an easy way to remove everything from the attached sheet except the donut charts and the letters? I need a transparent background

One of the attachments is the excel with the image pieces. The other is the PowerPoint showing the excel image added to it.

Are you not able to create the images in PoewrPoint?

To create the donut circles I had to use Excels chart function. I don't know of a way to create that look in Powerpoint. The lettering is easy. Its the segmented circles that are tough

I used your idea and was able to create donuts in Powerpoint. Didn't know that was possible. The donuts didn't have a background so I'm good. Thanks for the tip
